What do we care about, and why?

Sarah K Peck

What games are you trying to win?

I'M TRYING TO WIN SOCIAL MEDIA, BUT ALSO PARENTING, AND ALSO MY BUSINESS, WHILE WRITING A BOOK, BUT ALSO YOUTUBE, OKAY WHY AM I DROWNING?

Over the last few months, I've been going to events again.

After several years away, this feels like a big leap.

Candidly? I was scared to go. Worried about what people might think of me (because, anxiety). Nervous to meet people. Scared that I won't know how to be on stage — it's been a while. (That turned out to be a silly worry, I did fine.)

Most people I know have some version of these fears. We're worried about whether or not we're doing the right thing in our business; we're nervous about taking the leap to the next level of our work; we're scared to put ourselves out there.

One thing I learned that has helped me immensely: nobody is doing ALL the things.

The best business owners out there are not actually winning at everything. They're building businesses strategically. They're layering the pieces together, one at a time.

One person might have an amazing social media presence, built to hundreds of thousands of followers. And their email list? Tiny.

Another person might be a best-selling NYT author and not be on social media at all.

That's the foolery of looking around at everyone else.

You can start to believe that you need to be everywhere, doing everything, and doing it all at once.

But that's a fallacy.

No one is doing everything.

And the few people who are — well, they have built their ecosystems over years and years, and they likely have teams.

“Never compare your insides to everyone else's outsides.” — Anne Lamott

Stay focused on your lane. Your work. Your dreams.

If you need a refresher and you want help figuring out what's next, then you're in luck.

This week, I'm inviting several special guests to join me to talk about how to focus on what matters, why you should stop trying to do everything, and how to be a lot savvier about what you do.

You're invited to join me:

Stop Trying Harder. Start Choosing Better.
Tuesday, April 28 @ 3:00PM Eastern

Because when you're building a business, or writing a book, or parenting, you've got a very full plate.

And it's okay to do only one or two things at a time.

It's okay to give fewer f*rks. 🍽️

It's okay to do less.

— Sarah K Peck

PS: Be sure to register for the event tomorrow! And then on Wednesday, I'm also doing a private replay of the session I did at Mom2.0 all about business model design. If you want to learn more about building a business that scales, and how to stack your business models together, come join me on Wednesday, April 29. Folks who read this newsletter can get half off by using the coupon code NEWSLETTERFRIEND. The price goes up tomorrow, so grab your spot right now. Limited to 20 people.

Not everything working parents are trying to keep up with was ever theirs to begin with — and it’s time to put some of it down. Work like you don’t have kids. Parent like you don’t have a job. And somehow stay present, healthy, and sane while doing both.

But what if the issue isn’t your capacity at all? What if you’re simply operating inside a set of rules you never consciously agreed to? We'll look at the rules (that you never signed up for), how to break them, and what to choose instead.

Business Model Design — with Sarah Peck

In an era of micro-businesses and small teams building expansive platforms, the structure behind your business matters more than ever. It quietly shapes your time, your energy, and the decisions you make every day. In this session, we'll go behind the scenes of how different business models actually work, and how to think more intentionally about the one you’re building.

Please note: there are limited spaces at each event, so RSVP to grab a spot if you know you can attend. There are around 10 spaces remaining at each event. Grab a spot, and if it fills up, add your name to the wait list and I’ll notify you if we can add more people.

Moms, Moms, Moms! I met so many.

Here's a glimpse of the magic of the events last week. Here's a link to the key takeaways I wrote about from Mom2.0, and a short reel about why it's so important to be honest and kind to yourself while you're building a business, parenting, and taking on so much in life.

Make sure you're building a business that works for you.

It's okay to do less. It's okay not to be everywhere.

Join Jess Weisz and Sarah K Peck on Tuesday, April 29 for a candid session on how to make better choices (and drop some balls).

Then, on Wednesday April 28th, you're invited for an intimate session on Business Model Design, where I'll be teaching about how to build your ecosystem with more simplicity and ease.

Be sure to RSVP to join us.

The Wise Women's Council

A leadership incubator for women ready to live, work, and lead on their own terms.

🟡 THE NEXT COHORT STARTS APRIL 30 🟡

The Wise Women’s Council is a year-long leadership incubator for women in midlife navigating business, leadership, and life. It's for women who are done contorting themselves to fit systems that were never built for them. It’s a place for clear thinking, honest conversations, and real support—where ambition and care are not opposites, and where leadership gets to be thoughtful, human, and sustainable.

We gather to talk about power, money, visibility, change, and the long game of building a life and body of work that actually fits you and your dreams. If you’re craving depth, community, and a different way of leading, applications for the next Wise Women’s Council cohort are now open.

DEADLINE TO APPLY: APRIL 27
